Yes, our little Miss Thang has apparently begun teething. Between the drooling, hand sucking, finger biting, nipple crushing, and incessant whining, it's pretty certain she's due to develop some actual teeth here shortly.
I bought her some Baby Orajel yesterday and gave her some baby Tylenol, which seemed to help a little bit. I can't see anything breaking through the gums yet, but I'm sure that's on its way. Today she seems more comfortable than she has in the past few days and isn't quite as complainy, which is a huge plus.
Also, on August 2nd, she laughed for the very first time! Thankfully her daddy was here to catch it. It was very cute, almost like a chuckle, but with a big ol' grin attached. She does it once in a while, but it hasn't progressed to full-on giggling just yet. I can't wait for that to happen!
OH, and as for the dairy and soy free crap...the soy free diet is OVER. I tested her with Luna bars two weeks ago, which are basically all soy, and she hasn't had a single spot of blood, so soy is NOT the problem. I haven't tested her with dairy yet, but the plan is to eat something that is made with a milk product (like a cookie with milk, or milk chocolate, or sauce with cheese in it) and see what happens. If there is no problem, I will then challenge her system by eating a small amount of butter or cheese. And if there's no problem with that, we'll try some skim milk next. I'm betting her system has matured enough to start handling the proteins now. However, I will limit my dairy intake to a very small amount daily or weekly depending on how she reacts, so as not to overload her system before it's ready to do what it needs to do.
